Reducing Pain, Supporting Long-Term Mobility

At Spinal Decompression Sunshine Coast, we provide gentle, non-surgical spinal care for people experiencing back pain, neck pain, and disc injuries. Our focus is on relieving pain at its source while restoring movement, function, and long-term spinal health.

Led by experienced chiropractor Rod Le Coz, our clinic offers advanced spinal decompression therapy combined with MT Core technology. This targeted approach is designed to reduce pressure on the spine and nervous system, supporting the body’s natural healing processes. It may help relieve symptoms associated with bulging or herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, arthritic spinal changes, nerve compression, and ongoing chronic back or neck pain.

Spinal decompression is a safe, controlled treatment that gently stretches the spine to improve circulation to injured discs and create an environment that promotes healing — without surgery or medication. It is particularly beneficial for people seeking effective relief from disc-related pain or those looking for an alternative to invasive procedures.

Every care plan at Spinal Decompression Sunshine Coast is fully personalised. We take the time to understand your symptoms, lifestyle, and goals so your treatment supports both pain relief and long-term mobility. Sessions are calm, comfortable, and focused on helping you move more freely and confidently.

About Rod Le Coz

Hi, I’m Rod. Originally born in France and raised in New Caledonia, my journey eventually led me to Australia, where I studied and trained at the highly regarded Macquarie University in Sydney. I’ve now spent over 20 years practising as a chiropractor, including 16 years as the owner of My Chiropractor in Mackay, Queensland.

Over the past five years, I have introduced spinal decompression therapy into my clinical practice and have seen outstanding results helping people move more freely, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. Three years ago, my family relocated to the Sunshine Coast, which we now proudly call home. While I continue to care for my long-term patients in Mackay, I’m excited to bring my experience, passion, and specialised spinal decompression care to the Sunshine Coast community.

I take a holistic approach to chiropractic care, combining my knowledge of health, fitness, and nutrition to support each patient’s individual needs. I’m experienced in a wide range of chiropractic techniques and am known for my gentle yet effective approach, something reflected in the strong relationships and long-term patient care I’ve built over the years.

I have also completed further studies in paediatrics and enjoy supporting mums through pre- and post-natal care, as well as caring for babies and children as they grow and develop.

When I’m not in the practice, you’ll usually find me training for triathlons, cheering on my sons at soccer, or watching my daughter play NRL.

How Spinal Decompression Helps

At Spinal Decompression Sunshine Coast, we use advanced MT Core spinal decompression technology to gently relieve pressure within the spine, reduce pain, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Spinal decompression works by carefully creating space between the vertebrae, helping to reduce pressure on spinal discs and nerves. This approach may assist with conditions such as bulging or herniated discs, nerve irritation, and arthritic spinal changes, while supporting improved mobility and long-term spinal health.

The process is safe, controlled, and comfortable, and every session is guided by chiropractor Rod Le Coz to ensure care is tailored to your condition and comfort level.

Common Causes of Chronic Back and Neck Pain We Treat on the Sunshine Coast

Living on the coast has its perks, though long hours at a desk, weekend surf sessions and physical work can all take a toll on your spine. As a chiropractor Sunshine Coast locals turn to, we regularly help with ongoing pain linked to poor posture, old injuries and repetitive strain.

Tradies often come in with tight lower backs from lifting, while office workers struggle with stiff necks from screen time. We also see plenty of headaches tied to spinal tension, plus discomfort that lingers after car accidents or sporting knocks. If you’ve been searching for a chiropractor near me, we focus on finding the root cause – not just easing symptoms – so you can move freely again.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression suits people dealing with stubborn back or neck pain that hasn’t eased with basic care. If you’re managing a disc bulge, sciatica or nerve-related discomfort, this gentle approach can create space within the spine and reduce pressure.

As a chiropractor Sunshine Coast residents visit for longer-term relief, we often recommend decompression for those who feel sharp pain when sitting, standing or bending. It’s also a strong option for people wanting to avoid more invasive pathways. When locals Google "chiropractor near me," they’re often looking for care that fits their lifestyle – and this therapy works well alongside daily routines, helping you stay active without pushing through constant discomfort.
